NFL Week 13 Picks

26 Nov

It’s Thanksgiving week for the NFL, meaning instead of the normal one game, there are three.  Plus, Thanksgiving Thursday games feel more right, than the forced, weekly Thursday night games.

Last Week:  11-4 (.733)

Overall:  116-59-1 (.659)

Bears vs. Lions (People have complained that the Lions always get a Thanksgiving game, even though it’s tradition.  This year, there is more gripe that we have to see the Bears.)

Eagles vs. Cowboys

Seahawks vs. 49ers

Redskins vs. Colts

Titans vs. Texans

Browns vs. Bills (Bills played very well in the Monday night game; it carries over in the return to Buffalo.)

Chargers vs. Ravens

Giants vs. Jaguars

Bengals vs. Buccaneers

Raiders vs. Rams

Saints vs. Steelers

Panthers vs. Vikings

Cardinals vs. Falcons

Patriots vs. Packers (Hard to believe that Rodgers and Brady have never faced each other.)

Broncos vs. Chiefs

Dolphins vs. Jets (Miami is a team on the rise and Tannehill is finally figuring it out.)

NFL Picks Week 12

20 Nov

Time to try something different, because last week did not work at all.  It is what I would classify in the picking game as pretty close to a disaster.

See the record and weep:

Last Week:  5-9 (.357)

Overall: 105-55-1 (.652)

Chiefs vs. Raiders (Another thrilling Thursday night game.)

Browns vs. Falcons

Titans vs. Eagles

Lions vs. Patriots

Packers vs. Vikings

Jaguars vs. Colts

Bengals vs. Texans

Jets vs. Bills (I did consider picking the snow in this game.)

Buccaneers vs. Bears

Cardinals vs. Seahawks (The Cardinals are definitely for real if they win this game.)

Rams vs. Chargers

Dolphins vs. Broncos

Redskins vs. 49ers

Cowboys vs. Giants

Ravens vs. Saints (The battle of the league’s two most inconsistent teams on Monday night.)

NFL Picks Week 11

12 Nov

Last Week:  11-2 (.846)

Overall:  100-46-1 (.680)

Bills vs. Dolphins (If there is such a thing as a NFL mid-season, post-season elimination game, this might be it.)

Vikings vs. Bears (Just cannot trust the Bears after the Sunday night disaster.)

Texans vs. Browns (Mike Pettine has definitely changed the mind-set in Cleveland, to one where the Browns find a way to win, not lose.)

Seahawks vs. Chiefs

Falcons vs. Panthers (Which coach gets fired first, Mike Smith or Ron Rivera.)

Bengals vs. Saints

Buccaneers vs. Redskins

Broncos vs. Rams

49ers vs. Giants

Raiders vs. Chargers

Eagles vs. Packers

Lions vs. Cardinals (Arizona gets a good test here to see how life is like with Drew Stanton at quarterback.)

Patriots vs. Colts

Steelers vs. Titans

NFL Picks Week 6

10 Oct

So far, this NFL season has been made up of the great teams (like Denver and Seattle), and the terrible teams (like the Giants and Jaguars).  All the other teams are in the middle.

With a few exceptions, it is way too early to try and figure out what teams will be contending at the end.

Last Week:  10-4 (.714)

Overall:  51-26 (.662)

Giants vs. Bears

Bengals vs. Bills (Doug Marrone needs to have something drawn up on offense, since Buffalo has no quarterbacks.)

Lions vs. Browns (Things were looking up for the Browns, and then Brian Hoyer tore his ACL.)

Raiders vs. Chiefs

Panthers vs. Vikings

Steelers vs. Jets

Eagles vs. Buccaneers (Eagles catch a break on its opponent with QB Michael Vick being out.)

Packers vs. Ravens

Rams vs. Texans

Jaguars vs. Broncos (Could this be the biggest mismatch in NFL history?)

Titans vs. Seahawks

Saints vs. Patriots

Cardinals vs. 49ers

Redskins vs. Cowboys (As painful as it is to say, the Cowboys are pretty good.)

Colts vs. Chargers

Week 5 NFL Picks

3 Oct

Thankfully, last week included a bit of a rebound after a week below-.500.  Hopefully, it continues in this week’s edition of NFL picks.

Last Week:  10-5 (.667)

Overall:  41-22 (.651)

Bills vs. Browns (Who would have thought this Thursday night match-up would actually be a good one.) [Thursday 8:25 p.m., NFL Network]

Saints vs. Bears [1 p.m., FOX]

Patriots vs. Bengals [1 p.m., CBS]

Lions vs. Packers [1 p.m., FOX]

Chiefs vs. Titans (The Chiefs’ success isn’t that big of a surprise.  However, the Titans’ success is.) [1 p.m., CBS]

Seahawks vs. Colts (The Seahawks might be 4-0, but it is more of a lucky 4-0.) [1 p.m., FOX]

Jaguars vs. Rams (Congratulations St. Louis, you get the distinct honor of facing the Jaguars.) [1 p.m., CBS]

Ravens vs. Dolphins [1 p.m., CBS]

Eagles vs. Giants [1 p.m., FOX]

Panthers vs. Cardinals [4:05 p.m., FOX]

Broncos vs. Cowboys [4:25 p.m., CBS]

Chargers vs. Raiders [11:35 p.m., NFL Network]

Jets vs. Falcons [Monday 8:30 p.m., ESPN]

NFL Week 2 Picks

12 Sep

All of the opening day nerves are over as Week 2 of the NFL season approaches.  This weekend’s schedule is highlighted by the battle between Peyton and Eli Manning in the late game on Sunday.

Last Week:  12-4 (.750)

Jets vs. Patriots

Rams vs. Falcons

Panthers vs. Bills (This could be an exciting battle between Carolina’s Cam Newton and Buffalo’s E.J. Manuel.)

Vikings vs. Bears

Redskins vs. Packers

Dolphins vs. Colts

Cowboys vs. Chiefs

Chargers vs. Eagles

Browns vs. Ravens

Titans vs. Texans

Lions vs. Cardinals

Saints vs. Buccaneers

Jaguars vs. Raiders (The best of the worst games of the week.)

Broncos vs. Giants (If there is one thing that can be predicted, a Manning will win.)

49ers vs. Seahawks

Steelers vs. Bengals (Could we be seeing the beginning of the end of this era of the Pittsburgh Steelers?)
