AFC/NFC Championship Picks

15 Jan

At the end of Sunday night, we will know who will be playing in Super Bowl XLIX.  Then we wait for two weeks.

Last Week: 2-2 (.500)

Playoffs:  5-3 (.625)

Overall:  176-87-1 (.667)

Packers vs. Seahawks (The Seahawks are the hottest team right now, and seem poised to advance to their second consecutive Super Bowl.  Meanwhile, Aaron Rodgers led the Packers to the win on one leg.  I don’t think he can do that against that Seattle defense.)

Colts vs. Patriots (At the beginning of the season, many thought it was time to break-up the Patriots and maybe Tom Brady was over the hill.  I think the Bill Belichick-Brady duo has one more Super Bowl appearance left, and maybe even one more title.

NFL Divisional Round Picks

9 Jan

The divisional round of the NFL Playoffs is here.  It’s the final week of having four or more games in the NFL season.

Last Week: 3-1 (.750)

Overall:  174-85-1 (.669)

Ravens vs. Patriots

Panthers vs. Seahawks (This game probably has the two hottest teams left in the playoffs.  This was a mediocre game when the two teams battled during the regular season, but it is hard to beat Seattle in Seattle.)

Cowboys vs. Packers (It was announced that Aaron Rodgers has a slight tear in his calf.  He is expected to play, but I just don’t see him being effective.)

Colts vs. Broncos

NFL Week 16 Picks

16 Dec

The season is winding down, with only two weeks to go in the regular season.  I also can’t complain about a great week at picking games.

For Week 16, the NFL has games on Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.

Last Week:  14-2 (.875)

Overall:  151-72-1 (.674)

Titans vs. Jaguars (I looked back, and I haven’t picked Jacksonville once this season.  However, some trends are supposed to end, and this week, the Jaguars are the better team.)

Eagles vs. Redskins (Battle of the back-up quarterbacks.  But then again, Robert Griffin, III was the starter at the beginning of the year.)

Chargers vs. 49ers

Vikings vs. Dolphins

Ravens vs. Texans

Lions vs. Bears

Browns vs. Panthers (Fingers crossed I get to see a Manziel vs. Newton match-up [I’m going to this game], but at the same time Newton’s health is more important.  Plus, Carolina’s offense might be better with Derek Anderson.)

Falcons vs. Saints

Packers vs. Buccaneers (Calling this a mis-match, might be the understatement of the year.  Although if anybody knows how to defeat Aaron Rodgers, it is Lovie Smith.)

Chiefs vs. Steelers

Patriots vs. Jets

Giants vs. Rams

Bills vs. Raiders

Colts vs. Cowboys

Seahawks vs. Cardinals (This game doesn’t mean much.  Hate that Arizona has to go into this game with a third-string quarterback.)

Broncos vs. Bengals

NFL Week 13 Picks

26 Nov

It’s Thanksgiving week for the NFL, meaning instead of the normal one game, there are three.  Plus, Thanksgiving Thursday games feel more right, than the forced, weekly Thursday night games.

Last Week:  11-4 (.733)

Overall:  116-59-1 (.659)

Bears vs. Lions (People have complained that the Lions always get a Thanksgiving game, even though it’s tradition.  This year, there is more gripe that we have to see the Bears.)

Eagles vs. Cowboys

Seahawks vs. 49ers

Redskins vs. Colts

Titans vs. Texans

Browns vs. Bills (Bills played very well in the Monday night game; it carries over in the return to Buffalo.)

Chargers vs. Ravens

Giants vs. Jaguars

Bengals vs. Buccaneers

Raiders vs. Rams

Saints vs. Steelers

Panthers vs. Vikings

Cardinals vs. Falcons

Patriots vs. Packers (Hard to believe that Rodgers and Brady have never faced each other.)

Broncos vs. Chiefs

Dolphins vs. Jets (Miami is a team on the rise and Tannehill is finally figuring it out.)

NFL Week 17 Picks

28 Dec

It is the final week of the NFL regular season, and there are several key games to wrap up this 2013 season.

Last Week:  9-7 (.563)

Overall:  150-89-1 (.625)

Panthers vs. Falcons

Ravens vs. Bengals

Texans vs. Titans (Titans finish off the disaster that has been Houston’s season.)

Jaguars vs. Colts

Jets vs. Dolphins

Lions vs. Vikings

Redskins vs. Giants (Kirk Cousins won’t go winless in his stretch as starter.)

Browns vs. Steelers

Packers vs. Bears (Aaron Rodgers’ return sparks the Packers.)

Broncos vs. Raiders

Bills vs. Patriots

Buccaneers vs. Saints

49ers vs. Cardinals

Chiefs vs. Chargers (Chargers are hot, and the Chiefs are limping into the playoffs.)

Rams vs. Seahawks

Eagles vs. Cowboys (Romo or no Romo, Eagles win.)

Week 15 NFL Picks

12 Dec

Last Week: 9-7 (.563)

Overall:  132-75-1 (.635)

Chargers vs. Broncos

Redskins vs. Falcons (Could be a make or break game for each team’s coach.)

Bears vs. Browns (Doesn’t matter who starts at quarterback for the Bears.)

Texans vs. Colts

Patriots vs. Dolphins

Eagles vs. Vikings

Seahawks vs. Giants

49ers vs. Buccaneers

Bills vs. Jaguars

Chiefs vs. Raiders

Jets vs. Panthers

Packers vs. Cowboys (Won’t matter who starts at quarterback for the Packers.)

Cardinals vs. Titans

Saints vs. Rams

Bengals vs. Steelers

Ravens vs. Lions

And one college football game…

Last Week:  9-5 (.643)

Overall:  316-69 (.821)

Army vs. Navy (Navy continues its recent domination of this rivalry.)
